COPAXONE®
(glatiramer acetate injection) for Multiple Sclerosis
, was licensed from the Weizmann Institute of Science in
Israel and is a treatment for patients with Relapsing-Remitting Multiple Sclerosis (RRMS) – a major breakthrough
in the treatment of this devastating disease. Developed by Teva's R&D team, this proprietary branded treatment marked
an important milestone in the company's efforts to develop innovative new products.
COPAXONE®
is now approved for sale in 52 countries worldwide, including the United States, Canada, Mexico, Australia, Israel, and all European countries.
AZILECT® (rasagiline) for Parkinson's Disease
was licensed from the Technion – Israel Institute of Technology and provides monotherapy in early stages and adjunct therapy to levodopa in the more advanced stages of Parkinson’s Disease. AZILECT® represents a significant therapeutic advance in the quest to improve Parkinson’s treatment throughout the course of the disease, offering patients a simple option to the complex treatment of the disease.
Launched in Israel, its first market, in March 2005,
AZILECT®
is now marketed in the United States, Canada, Mexico, South Africa, Russia, the EU and Turkey with several additional countries in the pipeline.
Teva Respiratory
Acquired by Teva during their acquisition of IVAX in 2005,
QVAR® (beclomethasone dipropionate HFA) and
ProAirHFA® (albuteral sulfate) deliver respiratory relief in children and adults. QVAR® is
indicated for the maintenance treatment of asthma by using a pressurized, metered-dose
inhaler. ProAirHFA® relieves the symptoms of bronchospasms through an albuteral sulfate
inhaler. Through these products, Teva has taken their place as a leading competitor in the
field of respiratory therapy.
Teva Women’s Health
The recent acquisition of Barr Pharmaceuticals has placed Teva firmly in the world of women’s
health. With the addition of such products as
Plan B®,
ParaGard®,
Seasonique®, and
Enjuvia®,
Teva has doubled the amount of specialty offerings they have in this field. With an eye towards
